Conflict and anger.

If you were in a conflict or had a fight with someone yesterday and have woken up feeling all bad and guilty, the cards want you to know that it’s okay, some battles need to be fought.

Sometimes you need to raise your voice to be heard. Don’t shy away from anger because if you suppress it, sooner or later it will explode out. Better to let it out in small doses.

We have been taught that anger is bad and should not be felt. So we stuff it in inside us and pretend that we are fine. Anger is a feeling and it has to be felt. Pushing it back in doesn’t make it go away. It just makes it fester.

Acknowledging it and expressing it however, does make it better. You have the power and choice to decide how you want to express it. You can beat a pillow or even scream in an empty room if you don’t want to speak to the person. Or you can choose to tell the person how you feel. Btw, it’s I feel angry and not I am angry.

Don’t feel bad if you give in to anger today. Some amount of it is healthy. It is the element of fire within you. Too little and you will lack the zest for life, too much and it can destroy things. Have just the right amount, a healthy amount and it will balance life.

You can choose to go deeper and figure out the why of the anger. Do this exercise… I am angry because I feel xyz, I feel xyz because I feel abc, I feel abc because…

Just make sure you don’t go around in circles. For me the anger is a feeling of helplessness, when I feel like I can’t do anything to change a situation, or feel trapped in a situation.

What’s yours?
